Companionship & Activism

Come join us in a discussion around our role as people of faith in a time that calls for our social action. Diane & Kim will offer a look at the state of immigration in North Texas specifically from the perspective of their work with CLEAR, a Dallas area interfaith social justice group. Then, acknowledging what at times can be a dissonant relationship between spiritual companionship and social activism, they will lead us in reflection and spiritual practices to help us discern how we can best be of service in these trying times.

Kim Verriere is a spiritual director, retreat leader, and humanitarian. She specializes in faith deconstruction, the sacred feminine, discernment of call, midlife-unraveling and mystical experiences. She often works with ministers, seminary students and the LBGTQ community. She currently serves on the board of SMI, and as a volunteer coordinator with CLEAR DFW, an interfaith social justice group.

Rev. Diane Pennington is a spiritual director and interfaith minister. She has served as a grief workshop facilitator with Faith & Grief Ministries, as an ordained elder and deacon, and is a member of Canyon Creek Presbyterian in Richardson. Diane currently works as a Development Officer for Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services in NTX and Louisiana, and is an active member of CLEAR DFW.
