Morning Altars

Join us for an interactive morning of wonder, contemplative practice, and connection with the natural world. Karen will lead us in the mindful practice of creating impermanent nature mandalas. We’ll discover how a simple ritual engaging the environment around us can restore our sense of belonging to nature, open our perspectives, and even transform the way we live. Come let something wise and alive emerge as we engage in this beautiful practice together.
Karen Hoffman is a certified teacher in Day Schildkret’s modality, Morning Altars, as well as a compassionate listener, retreat facilitator and creator of many workshops at Retreat House Spirituality Center, and a trained grief educator with Faith & Grief Ministries. Karen has created Words that Matter® workshops and card decks, available on Etsy, which help people bring more mindful attention to living. She has published two books, most recently Navigating Loss with Intention: A Companion Workbook as You Grieve, which was a #1 new release on Amazon, and is now being used by professionals with their grieving clients. Karen lives in North Texas with her husband. They have three adult sons and an ever-growing family, who are the inspiration for much of Karen’s writing, as she shares her insights on what matters most.
