The Spirituality of Grief

All who love will eventually grieve. By bringing the resources of spirituality to bear on our losses, we can carry our sorrows rather than silence them. Calling on her extensive experience companioning those journeying through grief, Rev. Shelton will offer ways to help the griever understand their journey. She will share spiritual practices drawn from various religious traditions to help bring light and peace to the experience of grieving.

Rev. Fran Tilton Shelton is cofounder and president of Faith & Grief Ministries, a non-profit that offers resources for those in bereavement. She is a trained spiritual director with an MDiv and Doctor of Ministry from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She facilitates bereavement workshops and retreats, preaches and teaches in congregations and at conferences. Fran has provided pastoral care for PC (USA) congregations in Texas for over 20 years. She has been recognized by Faith Hospice and Forefront Living Foundation for her impact on those experiencing grief.
